It’s time for a change of season again and with it comes a change of temperature and a whole new set of fashion trends!
Autumn 2009 brings some very exciting trends to the high street. This style guide has been compiled to show how any curvy woman can enjoy wearing fashion but still make sure her outfit accentuates her figure.
Lace
Lace can be seen everywhere right now. Tops, dresses and accessories all seem to have a hint of lace. Lace is sexy, edgy and gives any outfit an extra bit of oomph! But there’s always a way to keep lace sophisticated and subtle. Rather than wearing lace all over, look for sleeve detail and piping. Alternatively why not treat yourself to a new bag with lace design to complement your favourite outfit.
Curvy Girl has bought into this trend by introducing a new American brand called Olivia Harper. With sizes starting from UK 16, this brand is cut to flatter a curvy shape. Olivia Harper has produced a selection of gorgeous little black dresses featuring long lace sleeves and lace detail. We’re currently awaiting their arrival and are very excited about getting them online… they truly are the perfect Christmas outfits!
Red
From red hot to cool berry, red is the must-have colour for autumn. Many women are wary of red and feel it’s too overpowering but red is a vibrant, confident colour that can brighten up any outfit. Once you find the right hue for your complexion you’ll come to love it too!
Check out the Autumn/Winter Anna Scholz range for a number of gorgeous and flattering red tops. Anna has added black corsage detail to create a luxurious look. If you’re still not sure that red is for you then why not invest in an Anna Scholz bolero. A bolero is the perfect versatile item that can be worn over dresses and plain tops to add a splash of colour whilst covering your arms - a problem area for a number of women.
Ruffles
Ruffles are a fantastic was to jazz up your wardrobe. Very flattering if worn the right way they can hide a multitude of sins. Ruffles can be worn in any colour and come in all shapes and sizes. Why not try a top with a ruffled neckline for something a little different. Ruffles are very versatile and transfer easily from day to night.
Curvy Girl has a fantastic selection of Frank Lyman ruffle dresses that are extremely flattering and trendy. Available in black and red, these dresses definitely have the wow factor! Why not combine two trends in one and go for a red ruffle dress.
